Dr. Shahriyar Asfouri, a member of the faculty of the Persian Gulf University and one of the researchers of the invention of "electrospun wound product containing slow-release dexpanthol based on alginate / chitosan with nucleus-shell structure" said: This product is actually a dressing for burn wounds and covers Burn injuries with the use of biocompatible materials that contain anti-burn medicine.Drug release control has also been considered in the design of this dressing.

He added: with the biocompatibility components used in the production of this product, for the first time such a dressing has reached the production stage in the world and it has no domestic or foreign match.

Dr. Asfouri, stating that this wound is the result of the scientific activity of a group of researchers, during the last three years in the "Nanoscience Technology Research Group" of the Persian Gulf University, said: Professor Reza Azin, a member of the faculty of the Persian Gulf University, Maryam Najafi PhD student of chemical engineering in Persian Gulf University and Sasan Zaeri, a faculty member of Bushehr University of Medical Sciences, were other researchers in this project.

He pointed out that the first mass production contract for this product was signed in Mehr 1399 (September 2020), and noted that the first contract for the concession of patent No. 101340 entitled "Production of electrospinning wound dexpanthol containing alginate / chitosan based on shell structure" between Persian Gulf University and Marine Services Development and Consulting Company were concluded.

According to Dr. Asfouri, it is predicted that if the necessary capital and licenses for production on a specified scale are provided, this product will be worth $ 100,000 in the first year and at least the same amount in the second year. This research group has invented 4 other bio_based products in the last three years are currently seeking to commercialize them.
